The world as we know it is a thing of the past. The planet’s technological infrastructure has been wiped out by an event known as The Reset. In City VI the powerful technology firm VOPO Technologies has managed to salvage a capitalistic system and undertaken to rebuild society. VOPO’s newest recruit is 25 year-old computer prodigy Simon Pinkerton.

City VI also harbors a scattered group of hackers determined to establish a connection beyond the city limits and build a network apart from VOPO’s watchful eye. One of these is Max, a loner and drug addict who spends his days re-selling salvaged electronics and attempting to send morse code signals to the outside world. Max’s routine is disrupted when he receives a package from a friend and fellow hacktivist who recently committed suicide. Inside he discovers a hard drive full of strange code and a single note reading: “FIND SIMON PINKERTON.”
